Media- Sarah would Die without it.
Whining about media, main stream or not.”Well cry me a river. Let’s take that claim apart, and let’s start with this:
A relative handful of columnists and commentators and a larger number of bloggers have indeed wondered in public about Palin’s decision to accept the nomination so soon after giving birth to a son with Down syndrome, a condition that requires a lot of attention, and when she has a 17-year-old unmarried pregnant daughter. How, they have asked, could Palin do right both by her family and her country?
To Palin, such questions constitute a “vicious and scurrilous” media campaign to ruin a promising conservative candidate, using sexism to do it. Is that true?
Fortunately, we have a similar set of circumstances to compare against the Palin case. In March of 2007, John Edwards decided to continue his presidential campaigning even after his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The reaction will sound familiar.
Rush Limbaugh said the Edwards were turning their eyes to the campaign when they instead should turn their eyes to God. Katie Couric, in a “60 Minutes” interview, accused Edwards of mining his wife’s condition for sympathy votes.
“Even those who may be very empathetic to what you all are facing might question your ability to run the country at the same time you’re dealing with a major health crisis in your family,” Couric told Edwards.
And in Time magazine, columnist Jay Carney wrote that “surely many average Americans have to be wondering at what point the candidate will decide that his duties as husband and father to three children, including a 6- and 8-year-old, trump his duty to his country and the cause of winning the White House.”
Edwards is a man; he is also a liberal. Yet, he faced the same questioning and second-guessing that Palin was undergoing. Why? Because human beings are drawn to human stories, and the media have an economic incentive to tell those stories, regardless of political bent. Sarah Palin and her Family have associations that are scandalous and behavior that is ethically challenged!
The complaint about a media “feeding frenzy” focused on Palin is even more precious. John McCain chose to introduce a totally unknown player to the national scene at a critical point in the campaign, and he did so by portraying her as a gun-toting John Wayne mother of five, riding out of the wilds of Alaska to clean up Washington. When in fact, Sarah Palin is a complete incompetent, unexperienced doof. Since the campaign Palin has continued to use the media for personal gain. Anyone interested in what this woman does all day as a governor?
And then they claim to be shocked at the “feeding frenzy” they set off? In the first hours after the announcement, TV reporters had so little information about Palin that they were reduced to reading off Wikipedia for information. Of course, the media descended on Alaska to try to fill in the gaps as quickly as possible.
The story the McCain camp peddled was so appealing that Palin even drew coverage from US magazine, People and National Enquirer, outlets that would never have wasted ink on a Kay Bailey Hutchison or Tim Pawlenty. Their interest was human, not political.
The real reason Palin is angry is because the reporting has shown that so much of the original McCain narrative was untrue.
Palin was cast as a reformer who fought the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere.” But in fact, she ran for governor in 2006 as a champion of the pork-barrel bridge and “opposed” it only after it was clear the project was dead. We were told that Palin abhors earmarks, the special congressional appropriations that Alaska politicians have used to bleed billions from the American taxpayer. But it turns out Palin fought to get earmarks both as mayor and as governor, hiring lobbyists and going to Washington herself to bring them home.
It’s not the media’s fault that the cinematic story envisioned by McCain and his staff has fallen apart on closer inspection. They just didn’t do their homework, and they got caught.
God Bless the MSM.. Without it Alaska's most unethical administration would not have been revealed.

I say - It appears that you are holding Sarah Palin to a high standard. Did the Demcrats do their homework? Will you hold President Obama and Democrats up to the same inspection and standard?
When it was finally learned that Obama belonged to a racist church for 20 years, where was the Democratic Party? Answer - They were trying to figure out how to control the damage. They were not looking around for another candidate.
When it became public, thanks to youtube, that Rev. Wright and his band of ranting psychopaths at Trinity United Church of Christ were Obama's spiritual advisors, where was the outrage? Where was the inspection? Where was the MSM?
Obama resigned from the church and that was it. Case closed for Obama.
A man who listened and supported Rev Wright the wacky nut jobs at Trinity for 20 years should have disqualifed from being President.
If a Republican candidate would have had a relationship with a KKK related church, he would have been disqualified.
Oh well, I will be waiting to see if President Obama can deliver on his promises. Let me see, he has to save the banking industry, cut my taxes, save Social Security, save the auto industry, bring back all our troops from the Middle East, and bring about world peace.
Gosh, I feel better already that my taxes are going down this year and my Social Security will be going up. Yes indeed, President Obama promised a better tomorrow. God Bless President Obama.
Eternally a Whiner and Liar,.... The Dairy Queen is not worthy to be praised America. Sarah is a Wasilla Hillbilly who tried to be the VP of my country with desperate, deceptive and hubrus behavior- This incompetent and sophmoric woman is currently STLL lying and cheating and abusing her way into the political future everyday. Sarah Palin has not been held to any wrongful or bias standard by the media. Sarah is a Scandal Factory... Made for Media Coverage
FACT Bristol and Levi are DROP OUTS -No Diploma- Now with a baby- Palin tried to show favoritism over every other Alaskan who has a diploma to get Levi a really great job without graduating.
FACT all Palin has to do is provide her medical records- something every other candidate provided- Prove she gave birth 3 weeks after she suddenly was 7 1/2 months pregnant ((((Poof))))-
FACT When no woman should travel during the last trimester this doof travelling from Texas with water broke.
FACT Alaska Air commented that Sarah or staff said nothing about being in labor, non knew she was even pregnant. She was not visably pregnant let alone the drip drip drip of the amniotic fluid, maybe your medical records might prove you're not a whackjob with a mental illness. <----this she can never prove. Actions speak louder than words.

..So far I have heard Governor Palin blame everyone connected to her for her loss. It was the media, her handlers, the McCain crew, the liberals, the this the that. She has never taken any responsibility or accountability for what she may have done or not done. Which is the epitomy of a sore LOSER. I believe the answers given to Katie were hers, I heard on Fox she refused to prep for the interview. Palin's answers, they just didn't make much sense to the average listener and they still don't. She was a big fish in a small pond in Alaska who could not stay afloat when dropped into the national waters .Joe sixpack, pitbulls, lipstick, hockey moms, and you betcha, all wrapped in $150,000.00 of Neiman Marcus just didn't play well on the big stage of intelligence and oration.
Using your model of condemnation as applied to Sarah, I wonder if the Obama family would have ever got off welfare if it wasn't for Affirmative Action and government set asides. Has Sarah asked for Affirmative Action status for her children.
And, Sen Ted Kennedy should have never been allowed in the Senate after he got drunk and killed his mistress on that lonely bridge.
And, Sen Barney Frank should have been arrested for running a house of ill reput out of his apartment.
And, Bill Clinton should have been thrown out of the White House for lying under oath about his affairs. Gosh, Bill was stripped of his ability to pracitice law in his home state.
And, the Blago - comic governor of Illinois, should be in jail for trying to sell Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder on e-bay.
I could go on and on about Democrats and their shortcoming.
Take care.
Using my model of condemnation as applied to Sarah?
To You perhaps a (Palinban) it's condemnation of your standard barrier ...I get it- To Me YES I'm holding a public offical to a higher standard of accountability and creditibilty. (she set herself up as some kind of ethical savior, which of course she's falls way short)
FACT- Palin has 5 personal ethics charges against her
FACT- Palin was found to have 'Abused Power' as a public official as stated by Alaska's Legislative Council
She continues to put her disfunctional life and inaduquate perspective out there. This is NOT what we want representing Alaska, Republicans or conservatives. Condemning? She does just that to any who asks her to prove her claims to competence, experience, a wholesome life, ethical actions, conservative policy, basic civics understanding.
I'm just askin and I will continue to ask
You claim that she set herself up as some kind of ethical savior. I am not quite sure when she did this. However, President Obama sure set himself up as the Messiah. Just ask Oprah.
At least she did not belong to a church that proclaimed God #### America.
Take care and God Bless
As for that Act, that's actually the one she's been "found guilty" under, and there's a couple reasons she's not in jail for it.
1. It's not a real criminal offense or she'd have been tried by the justice system instead of self-righteous goons..
2. The Ethics Act doesn't provide for it - the whole purpose of the EA is to rectify the situation and quite frankly... there's nothing to rectify. She didn't do anything that the position wouldn't allow her to do. It's sound and fury without substance.
3. The ruling has no credibility. It was little more than a political stunt. I doubt it achieved what they really wanted it too, and they aren't stupid enough to risk their jobs by pursuing it further.
As for Rev. Wright. ... read his sermons. That's a load of out-of-context garbage too.
FYI
A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so.
The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public late this afternoon by a bipartisan 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation.
"Compliance with the code of ethics is not optional. It is an individual responsibility imposed by law, and any effort to benefit a personal interest through official action is a violation of that trust. ... The term ‘benefit' is very broadly defined, and includes anything that is to the person's advantage or personal self-interest."

You clearly do not want the information that I've been trying to provide as an Alaskan. Obviously, none have been interested in the truth as seen by a Conservative Alaskan Republican who lives in Wasilla, who knows this sick woman personally. Whatever.....
In fact, I belonged to his church denomination for over 15 years (United Church of Christ). Unfortunately, I am contemplating leaving this denomination because I do not share Rev. Wright's negative view of America.
On the other hand, I like the United Church of Christ for its diverse theological perspective. However, I disagree with the United Church of Christ for giving cover to Rev. Wright, when it became obvious that his psychotic rantings were theologically offensive.
I refer specifically to the "God damn America". It sounds a lot more horrible quoted out of context than the actual sermon.
